The effects of climate change were evident just last year in Australia with the months of bushfires and dehydrated kangaroos in search of food. Temperatures are rising, air quality is deteriorating and human and animal habitat is gradually being destroyed.
Climate change, however, is not a regional but a global problem that affects us all and for which we need solutions. One approach to reduce CO2 emissions is the expansion of wind and solar energy.
We have been developing suitable mounting systems for over 17 years and, with K2 Base, we supply the software for planning, so that you can plan and install the right PV system safely and easily. With this know-how, we are now starting with our own location in Brisbane, Australia, supporting installers in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
We are going to conquer the fifth continent and looking forward to many new projects in Down Under! Would you like to know more? We introduce our Australian team and the new location.
Our Australian colleagues Ciaran Murphy, Inside Sales Support, and David McCallum, Managing Director, (from left to right) know the country and its people and provide on-site advice based on their many years of PV experience.
Australian roofs are mostly covered with sheet metal or tiles.
Initially, we offer the L-Foot for corrugated and trapezoidal sheet metal roofs (Trimdeck) and the SingleHook Vario for tiles. All products are certified and can be planned in K2 Base.
‘Australia, which is rich in sunshine hours, installed 3 GW of solar capacity on roofs last year alone. We see great potential here for K2 as rooftop experts and look forward to new customers and challenges,’ explains Katharina David, Managing Director K2 Systems.
‘One of the biggest benefits of K2 is the planning software K2 Base. It ensures that the PV system can be planned according to the Building Code and the Australian Standard AS1170.2. Especially for our more than 4,000 kilometres of coastline from Queensland to Victoria, the wind loads must be correctly considered in the planning. With K2 Base, the installer knows what and how many components they need and where to fix them before they even start the installation. I am very pleased to be able to offer the mounting systems in combination with this great design tool in Australia, because it simplifies the installers' lifes immensely,’ says David McCallum, Managing Director K2 Systems Pty Limited.
