The energy transition, PV expansion and digitalization need green electricity

The World Economic Forum is an international organization with a mission to improve the state of the world through public-private collaboration. The World Economic Forumbrings together leaders from politics, business, culture and other sectors of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas and to discuss the most pressing challenges of our time.

The 54th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum will focus on principles that promote trust, including transparency, consistency and accountability, under the theme: “Rebuilding Trust“. From January 15-19, 2024, personalities from the world of politics, such as Emmanuel Macron, President of France; Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission as well as UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Director General WWF Internationall, Kirsten Schuijt participate. In total, more than 100 governments, all major international organizations, 1000 partners of the forum as well as leading representatives of civil society, experts, youth representatives, social entrepreneurs and news agencies have been invited.

“At a time when global challenges require urgent solutions, innovative public-private collaboration is needed to turn ideas into action,’ said Børge Brende, President of the World Economic Forum. ‘The Forum provides the structure for developing research, alliances and frameworks that foster mission-oriented collaboration throughout the year. Next week’s Annual Meeting will serve as an accelerator for this collaboration, deepening the connections between leaders and between initiatives.”

So the question for the Heads of State and Government in Davos 2024 is: “Will the coming year be a time of “perma-crisis”? Or will 2024 be a time of resolution, resilience and recovery?”

Since K2 Systems was founded in 2004, over 32 GW have been installed in over 130 countries with our systems. These generate around 100 gigawatt hours per day. We are getting ever closer to our goal of a rapid, sustainable energy transition.

Katharina David, CEO of K2 Systems GmbH, was interviewed on the subject of solar energy in connection with the World Economic Forum in Davos. “As the market leader in Europe, one key to our success as a medium-sized company is that we rely on strong cooperation with customers, suppliers and key players in the industry in order to implement the energy transition quickly and easily together,” says Katharina David in an interview with TV presenter Andrew Wilson.

The World Economic Forum’s interview series aims to discuss some of the world’s most important global challenges. In the snowy mountains of Davos, leading CEOs from around the world discuss real-world problems.
