K2 Systems is excited to announce the availability of our U.S. Domestic Products. As we continue to align with the solar industry’s evolving needs and the requirements of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of 2022, we are proud to state that three key products are making the switch: the CR Micro Inverter, MiniRail Comp System and our 44-X MAX Rail.

Why This Is Important

The IRA of 2022 introduces crucial domestic content requirements (DCR) for solar projects to be eligible for a 30% tax credit plus a 10% bonus. These requirements emphasize the use of U.S.-made materials and labor, ensuring that a significant portion of a project’s cost is domestically sourced. By adhering to these standards, solar projects can maximize their financial incentives while supporting the growth of the American solar industry.

Key IRA Requirements

  1. Steel and Iron

All iron and steel products must be 100% made in the U.S., including being melted and poured domestically. This encompasses structural steel in new projects and rooftop solar racking, which often includes aluminum and steel components.

  1. Manufactured Products

40% of the cost of manufactured products must be U.S.-produced, including direct manufacturing labor. This includes critical equipment such as PV modules, inverters, and trackers. The requirement will increase to 55% for projects starting construction after 2027.

44-X MAX

The CrossRail 44-X may be K2’s smallest and lightest rail profile, but it doesn’t compromise on strength—matching the durability of the 48-X. Its enhanced profile design provides additional space for in-rail wire management, offering greater flexibility in installations. Proudly made in the USA, this product meets the requirements of the IRA 2022 Domestic Content standards, making it a reliable choice for projects that prioritize American manufacturing.
