Together with SolarPower Europe, we’ve launched the International Solar Manufacturing Initiative (ISMI) to tap into the global solar demand boom.

According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), the global market for clean energy technologies is set to be worth $2 trillion by 2035. That presents significant commercial possibilities for resilient products at home and abroad.

ISMI has four goals:

1. Support European solar manufacturing in tapping into global demand.
2. Advocate for export and development cooperation that boost European competitiveness and partner countries’ development goals.
3. Secure public financing from the EU Global Gateway Initiative, Development Finance Institutions, and Export Credit Agencies to deliver projects in partner countries.
4. Build a stronger, more resilient, global solar PV supply chain.

Representatives from Solarpower Europe, European photovoltaic manufacturers, the European Commission and the European Investment Bank (EIB) attended the kick-off workshop of the International Solar Manufacturing Initiative.
