The World’s First PV System in Rainbow Colors

Hamburg, Germany

Project Highlight: Colorful PV Modules

Thanks to Fraunhofer ISE’s innovative color technology—MorphoColor®—the colored modules achieve up to 94% of the performance of conventional black modules. Instead of using color pigments, a so-called photonic structure is applied. This special surface technology selectively reflects a narrow range of the light spectrum, while most of the sunlight continues to be efficiently utilized for power generation. (Source: LichtBlick)

The K2 Solution: Color-Matched Module Clamps

Special projects call for special solutions: To visually match the rainbow-colored PV modules, K2 laminate module clamps were specially coated with a scratch-resistant, color-stable ceramic finish.
