Venice Architecture Biennale: A Sunny Outlook for the German Pavilion

17 July 2025 Updates: Company

When the international architecture scene gathers for the 19th Venice Architecture Biennale, K2 is right there at the top – quite literally: our mounting systems support the photovoltaic installation on the roof of the German Pavilion!

Under the theme “STRESSTEST”, this year’s German contribution draws attention to the urgent challenges of climate change – in a way that is tangible, visible, and experiential. The focus lies on heat stress in urban environments and the call for a radical rethink in urban planning. And because sustainable architecture doesn’t stop at the façade but starts with the energy system, a PV system with around 8.2 kWp was installed – using our proven K2 S-Dome 6.15 Classic LS mounting systeme, mounted at a 15° tilt facing south.

Even after the world’s most prestigious architecture exhibition closes its doors in late November, the system will remain permanently on the pavilion, supplying it with clean energy for years to come. A true statement for sustainability – and we’re proud to be part of it.

We also extend our sincere thanks to the Institute for Building Climatology and Energy of Architecture at the Technical University of Braunschweig for the opportunity to support this exciting project.

Art meets climate action. Architecture meets responsibility. And K2 delivers the supporting structure.
