‘The project was designed to withstand high wind speeds and high salinity as the site is located directly on the beach in Montego Bay, Jamaica. To increase the overall strength of the S-Dome system, we used two rails per panel. At the top we used anchor bolts to fix the rails to the roof. We chose the S-Dome system because the use of materials in its components is so durable that rust cannot affect the solar panel mounting system over time. This was extremely important for us, as the location is right by the sea,’ said Maikel Oerbekke, CEO of Renewable Energy Developers Ltd (RED).
