New in K2 Base: Use drone images or your own drawings for PV planning

Our smart planning tool K2 Base, enables quick and easy designs for PV projects

Thanks to the convenient Google Maps integration and intuitive graphical tools, roof areas for the selected property can be drawn with just a few clicks.

But what if the satellite image is not of the desired quality? Or if the building has not yet been built and thus cannot yet be displayed by Google Maps? For these cases we at K2 Systems have developed a new feature: The image upload. With it, drone images, high-resolution aerial photos, technical drawings and floor plans, as well as satellite images from Bing & Co can be used for the planning of solar projects. All common image formats (jpg., jpeg., png., webp.) with a file size of up to 5 MB are accepted.

The uploaded image can be positioned transparent or fully opaque on the static terrain image from Google Maps. This is done by simply placing two virtual pins on both images. The vector created from these two points determines how the image can be scaled, panned and rotated. The uploaded image can later be easily replaced by an actual data file.

This clever software thus once again simplifies the workflow when planning the PV installation and enables the calculation and display of the roof fasteners as well as the ballastings even before a building is constructed.
